Mission Statement

A mighty move of the hand of YHVH Elohim's Spirit is sweeping across the earth. No human agency is orchestrating this movement, and it is irrepressible. It is preparatory for the return of YHVH-Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of David who will establish his millennial kingdom on planet earth and rule with a rod of iron for a thousand years. This movement involves many Believers in Yeshua the Messiah hearing the call of YHVH to “Shema Yisrael” (hear and do Israel), and to walk out more fully his Word.

Hoshana Rabbah Messianic Discipleship Resources, and its adjunct fellowship, Congregation Elim, seeks to minister to YHVH's precious sheep who are turning their hearts to the spiritual fathers of their faith in fulfillment of Malachi's prophecy (Mal. 4:4-6), which is a precursor to the return of Messiah ben (son of) David. Our ministry mission is to disciple in person (the mission of Congregation Elim) and through distance learning by the production and dissemination of teaching materials (the mission of Hoshana Rabbah) those who are returning to the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith.

Our goal is to help people to grow in an understanding of their Hebrew roots by giving them a safe, loving and secure spiritual harbor to deepen their spiritual walk and relationship with the Elohim of Israel and his right arm (Isa. 53:1) Yeshua the Messiah, Savior and Redeemer of Israel, and then to spiritually equip them to spread the message that Yeshua the Bridegroom is coming for his people—a spiritual bride without spot and wrinkle, walking in deeds of righteousness (Eph. 4:11–13; Rev. 19:7–9).

This equipping is done through intensively teaching the Word of Elohim (from Genesis to Revelation), learning to love Yeshua and our fellow man more fully by living in accordance with his Torah-commands (John 14:15), to embrace the salvation message of the cross, and to otherwise learn to worship our Father in heaven in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

We believe that the Messianic Israel or Hebrew Roots Movement involves Christians agreeing with the Apostle Paul that through faith in the shed blood of Yeshua the Messiah of Israel, they no longer are Gentiles, without Elohim and without hope being aliens from citizenship in the nation of Israel, and cut off from Israel's covenants of promise with YHVH. Instead, they, along with their believing Jewish brethren, are Israel, the seed of Abraham (Rom. 4:16; 8:9–11; Gal. 3:7,9,14,28–29), through Yeshua and have become the one new man (Eph. 2:13–16) where there is no longer Jew or Gentile (Gal. 3:28; Col. 3:11), but only Israel, the beloved Bride of the Messiah (2 Cor. 11:2), the called out ones or Saints, which is the Body of Yeshua (1 Cor. 12:27), and as such have become adopted as spiritual sons of the Living Creator, YHVH Elohim (Rom. 8:15,23; 9:4; Gal. 4:4; Eph. 1:5). The formation of the one new man through Yeshua is the reunification of the two sticks of Israel (Ezek. 37:15–28), the establishment of the kingdom to Israel (Acts 1:6), the raising of the fallen tabernacle of David (Amos 9:11; Acts 15:16), the restitution of all things (Acts 3:21) and the formation of the Bride of Yeshua the Messiah (Rev. 19:7–9). Realizing these biblical truths, it is Hoshana Rabbah's mission to help Believers to come to embrace their full identity in Yeshua as Israelites, to walk and live as Israelites and then to encourage them to share this good news with as many as possible thereby hastening the restoration of all things and the return of Yeshua, the Messiah and King of Israel (Acts 3:19–21).

Statement of Belief

Part One

We believe with complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name, creates and guides all creatures, and that He alone made, makes and will make everything.

We believe with complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name, is unique, and there is no uniqueness like His in any way, and that He alone is our Elohim (God), Who was, Who is and Who will be.

We believe with complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name, is not physical, and is not affected by physical phenomena, and that there is no comparison whatsoever to Him.

We believe with complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name is the very first and the very last.

We believe with complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name, to Him alone is it proper to pray, and it is not proper to pray to any other.

We believe with complete faith that all the words of the prophets are true.

We believe with complete faith that the prophecy of Moses our teacher, peace upon him, was true, and that he was the father of the prophets — those who preceded him and those who followed him until the first advent of the Messiah Yeshua of whom Moses was a foreshadow and about whom Moses prophesied.

We believe with complete faith that the entire Torah “Torah” means “teachings, instructions and precepts [in righteousness]” and is contained in the first five books of Scripture) now in our hands is the same one that was given to Moses, our teacher, peace be upon him.

We believe with a complete faith that this Torah which is of divine origin will not be exchanged, nor will there be another Torah from the Creator, blessed is His Name.

We believe with complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name, rewards with good those who observe His commandments, and punishes those who violate His commandments.

We believe with complete faith as the Messiah came once as Messiah ben Yosef (the Suffering Savior) in the Person of Yeshua of Nazereth, even so Messiah Yeshua will return at the end of the age as Messiah ben David (the Conquering King), and though he may delay, nevertheless we anticipate every day that He will return and prepare ourselves accordingly.

We believe with complete faith that there will be a resurrection of the dead at the Second Coming of Messiah Yeshua, blessed is His Name and exalted is His mention forever and for all eternity.

We believe with a complete faith that the Creator, blessed is His Name, knows all deeds of human beings and all their thoughts, as it is said: “He fashions their hearts all together” (Psalms 33:15), “He comprehends all their deeds” (Psalms 33:15).

Part Two

We believe in one Elohim, blessed is His Name, as He has revealed Himself in the Scriptures. “Hear, O Israel, YHVH is our Elohim, YHVH is One.” (Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29). We believe that the intended meaning of this word "one" as found in Hebrew “echad”, means a “composite unity.”

We believe that Yeshua is the Son of Elohim, the Messiah, the Eternal One in Whom all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and who is the Torah or Word of Elohim, the Living Torah who became flesh and dwelt among us, and whose glory we beheld, the glory of the uniquely begotten Son of Elohim, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-14; Colossians 2:9)

We believe that the Ruach (Spirit) of Elohim comforts, teaches, leads, indwells and empowers all whom He regenerates.

We believe that all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of Elohim. (Romans 3:23)

We believe that Messiah Yeshua's death and resurrection accomplished the atonement for all who would repent of their sins and place their faith in Him. Whoever trusts in Elohim, blessed is His name, and in His Holy Sent One, Messiah Yeshua, is made a new creation in Messiah, indwelt by the Spirit of Elohim, and is transferred from the kingdom of darkness, rebellion, sin and damnation into the kingdom of Torah light, truth, righteousness and eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5, 6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20)

We believe salvation is by faith through the grace of Elohim alone, and not by human efforts. One may not earn, merit, or keep this eternal salvation by his own efforts. A new creation is the work of Elohim alone. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 8:29-39) We believe in the spiritual unity and equality of all believers in Messiah Yeshua. (Ephesians 2:11-22)

We believe in the continuity of YHVH Elohim's covenants with the physical people of Israel according to Jeremiah 31:35-36 and parallel passages. Part of the fulfillment of these covenants is the physical return of the people of Israel to their Promised Land. (Deuteronomy chapter 30)

We believe that all people who trust in Yeshua are grafted into Israel, granting them the ability and blessing of obeying the Torah (YHVH-Yeshua's Teachings), having had it written it upon their hearts as participants of the Renewed (New) Covenant. (Romans 11:11-24; Jeremiah 31:33)

We believe that the Torah (first five books of the Bible) forms the foundation of all subsequent Scripture and is a revelation of the righteousness of Elohim and the description (along with the rest of the Scripture) of the lifestyle of the redeemed community. (Matthew 5:17-19; II Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe that the spiritual fruit of the life of the redeemed and spiritually regenerated believer in Yeshua will be Torah-obedience to the greatest degree that is humanly possible and that it will be done based on a heart of love for Yeshua, the Living Torah. (John 14:15; 1 John 2:3-6)

We believe in the literal, physical return of Messiah to rule and reign upon the throne of David in Jerusalem. We hold to the pre-millennial view of His return. (Zechariah 14; Revelation 19-20)

We believe in the resurrection of both the wicked and the righteous. Those who have repented of their sins and trusted in Messiah will be resurrected unto life and those who have died without having repented of their sins and believed in Messiah will be eternally separated from Elohim. (Romans 1:18ff; I Corinthians 15; Revelation 20-21)

We teach and obey all the Torah commandments that are possible for us to obey today such as the Sabbath, Holy Festivals, and the laws of Clean and Unclean Meats, etc.

In short, we are a community of believers in Yeshua the Messiah endeavoring to rediscover the Hebraic roots of our faith (as modeled by the first-century — “New Testament” — believers) who practice a Torah-obedient lifestyle with the joy, power and gifts of the Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit).

We believe that a great move of the Almighty YHVH Elohim is afoot on the earth today bringing about “the restoration of all things” before Messiah can return (Act 3:21). This involves the Jews coming to know Messiah Yeshua — the Living Torah — and Christians returning to YHVH’s instructions in righteousness — the Written Torah, and all becoming one in Yeshua the Messiah who was and is the Torah (Word) of Elohim made flesh.
